Angiogenesis Antibody-Growth Factor Arrays-Designed for Cancer/Degenerative Diseases Research

Growth Factors stimulate cellular growth, proliferation, healing, and cellular differentiation. Usually it is a protein or a steroid hormone. Growth factors are important for regulating a variety of cellular processes. Growth factors typically act as signaling molecules between cells. Examples are cytokines and hormones that bind to specific receptors on the surface of their target cells. They often promote cell differentiation and maturation, which varies between growth factors. For example, bone morphogenetic proteins stimulate bone cell differentiation, while fibroblast growth factors and vascular endothelial growth factors stimulate blood vessel differentiation (angiogenesis). Finally, Neurotrophins, like Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), stimulate Neurogenesis. Dysregulation of Growth Factors are at the roots of many degenerative diseases and cancers.

With this platform, only 50 µl of sample is needed for quantification of up to 40 proteins in quadruplicate, making this array 80 times more efficient than traditional ELISA. Comparison of Antibody Array Platforms

Get 4x the data, plus high throughput

Each 75mm x 25mm glass slide is spotted with 16 identical antibody arrays (also called “subarrays”). Within each subarray, the capture antibodies along with controls are spotted in quadruplicate. The slide comes with a 16-well removable gasket and chamber assembly that allows for simultaneous processing of up to 16 samples per slide. To achieve even higher throughput, 4 slides can be nested into a tray which matches a standard microplate, allowing for automated processing of 64 arrays simultaneously. The latest automated liquid handling work stations can accommodate several trays at once, allowing hundreds of samples to be processed per day.

Quantibody® Product Highlights:
  • More Data: Detect up to 40 cytokine concentrations in a single array
