Recombinant Mouse Bax, amino acids 38-171 , produced in E.Coli, is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain. 

The expression of BAX is upregulated by the tumor suppressor protein p53, and BAX has been shown to be involved in p53-mediated apoptosis

It is suspected to be upregulated and catalyze cell death in the onset aof Alzheimer's Disease
