Neurogranin is a calmodulin-binding protein expressed exclusively in the brain, particularly in dendritic spines, and participating in the protein kinase C signaling pathway. Neurogranin is down regulate in Schizophrenia and is not found in the dendrites in patients with Alzheimer disease.
