Frizzled 4, also known as FZD4 and CD344, is a neuronal stem cell marker. This includes expression on fetal neuronal progenitor cells and neuronal intestinal cells. Transcripts have also been identified in liver, kidney, pancreas, spleen, and fetal lung, and in smaller amounts in placenta, adult lung, prostate, testis and colon.
It has been reported that it controls retinal and inner ear angiogenesis, participates in the regulation of embryonic development, tissue and cell polarization and proliferation.
