Rat Neurosphere/Progenitor Differentiation Media is a serum free medium containing Neurobasal®, B27® (without retinyl acetate), Glutamax™, FGF2, and EGF that has been optimized for the growth and proliferation of neurospheres in culture (PM:17545985). Derived from neural stem cells, neurospheres are free-floating clusters of neuroprogenitor cells with the ability to differentiate into neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. The Media is an excellent choice for scale-up of neuroprogenitor cells in high throughput applications. 

Media should be stored at 4°C for up to the expiration date listed on the label. It should not be frozen. This medium is designed for use at 37°C in a 5% CO2 incubator. Neurospheres are subject to less oxidative stress if the oxygen is also regulated at 9%.
